Admissions to the B.Tech or B.E. courses at 181 engineering colleges which are affiliated to the Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka are done through COMEDK UGET. There are more than 60,000 applicants for the COMEDK UGET that is an alternative test to engineering admissions in Karnataka after the state conducted CET exam.
MANAGEMENT QUOTA ADMISSIONKarnataka Professional Colleges Foundation, in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students seeking admission to the member institutions, have formed “Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” (COMEDK). It is to determine the merit of students in an effective, fair, transparent and non-exploitative testing procedure and has been floated by the Associations of Medical, Dental and Engineering private colleges for merit determination of students seeking admissions to the Member Institution. Presently about 150 Engineering colleges, who make available around 20,000 seats, are affiliated to COMEDK and utilize its testing mechanism for effecting admission to UG Program during the academic year 2017-2018. KUPECA has entrusted COMEDK with the responsibility of conducting the entrance examination and seat selection process.
For the academic year 2017 - 18, COMEDK will conduct Under Graduate Entrance Test 2017 (UGET 2017) for admission to undergraduate engineering courses on Sunday the 14/05/2017.
Candidates taking up the exam are required to have passed 12 grade from any recognized university or Board in the India. They are required to have obtained a minimum aggregate of 45% (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) in their class 12th. Candidates must have passed these subjects individually. Aspirants must have studied Physics, Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject along with any one of the following optional subjects - Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology or any other technical vocational courses. Candidates are required to have studied English as a subject in the qualifying exam.
The final COMEDK UGET answer key 2017 was released on May 26 and the exam of COMEDK UGET was conducted online on May 14, 2017. The COMEDK UGET Result 2017 has been announced on May 28 when candidates can check their marks and download the score card of COMEDK UGET.
COMEDK UGET 2017 Counselling has commenced from 12 pm onwards on June 12, 2017.
